The Apogee Performance Surfaces segment has grown from $100M to $200M in revenue through a recent acquisition. Position Summary

The Production Planner position is a key role within our operations team. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and exceptional information analysis skills are a necessity. Key objectives will be to plan and schedule production lines to maximize efficiency, achieve targeted customer service levels, and manage inventory levels and targets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily/weekly production schedules that maximize equipment capabilities.
  • Coordinate production & inventory planning of raw materials and components.
  • Analyze and manage MRP, material master /parameters.
  • Revise essential system planning data to ensure our ERP system is effectively planning future requirements
  • Inventory management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, inventory planning & control and product life cycle management.
  • Project management: new product launch support and other projects as assigned.
  • Provide support to customer service, sales team, product management, and production team with business and product strategy
  • Participate and contribute to monthly SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning) process.
  • Resolve all inventory, delivery, and performance issues to improve inventory position.
  • Plan and execute requisition of raw materials from authorized suppliers.
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing.
  • Proactively report product and material availability issues.
  • Use basic statistical models and tools to analyze historical demand and inventory levels and make recommendations.

Personal Attributes and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required concentration in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, and Operations Management.
  • Minimum 3 years of production planning experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Epicor ERP system experience preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Proficient computer literacy, Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
  • Some travel may be required

Work Environment

This job is primarily performed in an office environment. The noise level in the office is generally moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with individuals on the plant floor, near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.
