The Senior Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the finance department who will work closely with the Controller and lead the monthly financial close processes to ensure integrity of data through accurate and timely procedures, including review of results for accuracy and explanation of variances.



What You'll Do




  • Assist Controller with projects, including supporting the budgeting, forecasting, and quarter-end reporting processes for Corporate submission
  • Sustain efforts for accurate Cost Accounting, including review of purchase price and manufacturing variances, and margins on daily shipments, with research and report-out to Controller
  • Provide accurate costing for quoting of finished goods and pricing of after-market parts
  • Support reduction and control of Excess and Obsolete Inventory
  • Execute annual standard cost roll and assist Controller with Overhead Rate analysis
  • Manage capital investments, including assisting Controller with capital expenditure requests, reconciling projects in process, maintaining sub-ledger, and generating monthly depreciation reports
  • Identify and assist in implementation of further automation of processes, data collection, and reporting, including maintaining accounting procedure manuals.
  • Record weekly payroll and calculate and submit monthly pension contributions and union dues
  • Support annual audits by compiling and annotating requested supporting documentation
  • Be a source of guidance to coworkers for costing and good financial recommendations
  • Compile Sales and Use tax data, file returns, and coordinate payments for various states
  • Calculate Rebates and commissions
  • Other duties as assigned


What You'll Bring



  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting
  • Five-seven years' experience in public accounting (assurance / attestation) or for a publicly traded company
  • Experience with cost accounting is preferred
