Position Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for coordinating truck freight transportation from Collins sawmills and off-site reload locations. This role will also provide administrative support to the sales team and support the responsibilities of the Export and Rail Coordinator. This is an on-site part-time position with flexibility on days and hours.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate shipments for delivery, including managing necessary personnel, to maximize efficiency and profitability. Ensure shipping methods comply with local, state, and federal law.
  • Maintain communication with the sales team and shipping coordinators at the mills and reload sites to ensure shipping schedules are on track, calendars are synced and maintained, and that carriers are communicating with the shippers and receivers.
  • Maintain supplier, sales, carrier, TMS, and customer records.
  • Maintain TMS configurations to ensure proper shipment tendering and optimization.
  • Resolve carrier payment disputes and investigate inaccurate freight accruals.
  • Prepare and process customer invoices, updating customer and vendor profiles as needed.
  • Analyze and optimize the company's logistics processes.
  • Provide administrative support to the sales team.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.


Required Skills and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of TMS systems; Princeton TMX preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to act with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in business or a similar field required or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified or two (2) years of experience in logistics.
  • Relevant industry-related experience preferred.
  • Experience utilizing ERP software preferred.
