Position Summary:
|
The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the MSL in Labor & Employment Law program at Cardozo and guiding the development, marketing, and operations of the program to build and sustain a high-quality educational experience that graduates 80-100+ students a year.
|
Position Responsibilities:
|
- Advise on the curriculum for the program, in collaboration with the Vice Dean
- Identify instructors to build and teach courses for the program, monitor and enforce course development timelines, and monitor and guide teaching quality
- Guide marketing strategies, review marketing materials, and assist in outreach to prospective students
- Review admissions applications and make admissions decisions; communicate with admitted students
- Oversee the student experience in the program, plan and execute events for students, and interact with and advise students as needed
- Teach one 2-credit course per year

Experience & Educational Background:
|
- JD or LLM degree required
- 5+ years of relevant experience (either academic or in practice) strongly preferred
|
Skills & Competencies:
|
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and coordinate a diverse set of tasks across multiple offices
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines, and strong ability to set and enforce deadlines for others whose work is being overseen
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent teaching skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and a strong ability to learn and use academic software systems, such as Canvas, Banner, and Recruit
- Ability to exercise good judgment, to take initiative, and to work independently
- Knowledge of and insight into the human resources profession and market of human resources professionals is strongly preferred
