Your Opportunity: Taylor is seeking a Publishing Graphics Specialist who will play a critical role in leading the design, production, and management of high-quality visual content for print and digital media. This role requires advanced graphic design skills, a deep understanding of publishing processes, and the ability to mentor junior staff while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. Your Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and production of a wide range of materials, including marketing collateral, publications, presentations, and digital content
- Develop creative concepts and execute designs that align with brand guidelines and project goals
- Oversee the editing and optimization of images, graphics, and layouts for various formats and platforms
- Manage complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and incorporate feedback throughout the design process
- Mentor and provide guidance to prepress staff, offering constructive feedback and support in their professional development
- Conduct training sessions on creative software, best practices, and industry trends to enhance team capabilities
- Oversee the formatting, layout, and production of publications, ensuring accuracy and consistency in content presentation
- Maintain and organize digital assets and files within the content management system for easy access and retrieval
- Review all graphic materials and final proofs for accuracy, quality, and compliance with brand and publication standards
- Implement quality control measures to ensure high standards of visual presentation and production efficiency
- Work closely with marketing, communications, and other departments to align design projects with organizational goals and strategies
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations for enhancing visual communication and engagement
- Review product specifications, ensuring adherence during the proofing process
- Collaborate with sales and production leadership to ensure optimal characteristics for manufacturability based on equipment capabilities
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives, improving best practices and improving throughput
- Participates in root cause and corrective action focused on proofing error elimination
Your Shift:
- 1st Shift; Monday - Friday, 6am - 2pm
You Must Have:
- Typically requires an associate's degree in a related area and 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area Expertise in graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant tools
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout design
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work in an office environment and collaborate effectively with team members
- May require occasional lifting of materials or equipment for production purposes
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Multimedia Arts, Publishing, or a related field; or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in graphic design or publishing, preferably in a corporate or agency setting
- Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant tools
- Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout design principles
- Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in an office environment and collaborate with team members
- May require occasional lifting of materials or equipment for production purposes
Requirements Within This Position:
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
- Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
- Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
- Frequently required to move inside the facility
- Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)
We Would Also Prefer:
- Vocational training or degree in Graphic Design
- Previous printing experience
- 2-5 years' experience
The anticipated hourly pay for this position is $36.00. The actual base offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation's total compensation and benefits package for employee.
