Core Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of lower job classifications.
- Required to perform all routine daily vehicle servicing, preventive maintenance, general maintenance consisting of parts replacement only.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety.
- Maintain proper service and maintenance records.
- Assist personnel of higher classification.
- Be able to perform work at skill level C, as defined as work which requires definite eye/hand coordination. Some basic knowledge of components or systems to enable the technician to make necessary inquires. Diagnostic abilities are limited to a single possible cause for any specific condition, while maintaining certain tolerances needed to satisfactorily complete the assignment.
- Must be able to read, write and take verbal instructions.
- Maintain allocation of inventory and restock shelve and bin locations.
Required Education/Experience
Relevant Work Experience
- Candidate must successfully complete an Automotive Predictor Test. Required
- Candidates must have successfully passed two out of the following four basic A.S.E. Heavy Truck Certification tests: - Preventive Maintenance Inspection (T8) - Brakes (T4) - Suspension and Steering (T5) - Electrical and Electronic Systems (T6) Required
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required
- Other: Valid Class D motor vehicle operators license. Required
Additional Physical Demands
- Candidates must be able to perform heavy manual labor (push, pull and lift 45-60 lbs.), extensive walking, climbing and standing, and be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
