***In order to be considered for this position candidate must be serving permanently in the title of Operations Communications Specialist, or must have filed for civil service exam #5098, and provide proof of filing, or be eligible under the 55a program.*** Minimum Qualifications 1. Six months of full-time satisfactory experience operating two-way radio equipment involving the extensive receiving, logging and sending or radio transmissions in English (Citizen Band radio experience is not acceptable); or Preferred Skills
-Understanding of Incident Command System and proficient with Microsoft office applications and web-based technologies such as Microsoft word -Knowledge of roadways within 5 boroughs -Knowledge and usage of emergency notification systems -Knowledge of Traffic Signal Maintenance Program -TSMP -Knowledge of Streetlight Maintenance Program-SLMP ***In order to be considered for this position candidate must be serving permanently in the title of Operations Communications Specialist, or must have filed for civil service exam #5098, and provide proof of filing, or be eligible under the 55a program.*** 55a Program

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
