Position Summary

Acuren is recruiting for a Lab Tech II for our New Castle, DE location.



Responsibilities

Position: Lab Tech II

Reports To: Materials Engineer

Schedule: Monday through Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepping and performing testing of metallurgical and chemical analysis samples. (Training provided)

Essential Functions:

    Apply criteria expressed in material and process specifications to suitably prepare metallurgical and chemical analysis specimens.
  • Assist in the coordination of work flow through the department and scheduling to meet client needs.
  • Interact with clients periodically to review work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as may be required from time to time.


Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Able to operate all machines in the lab area including sanders, polishers and wet abrasive saws.
  • College degree preferred but High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical specifications and drawings.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills including correct basic grammar, spelling, punctuation.
  • Ability to safely carry out oral and written work instructions.
  • Ability to maintain and keep customer and employee information confidential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires sitting, standing at equipment, limited lifting (max lift 50 lbs.) and walking.
