Job Description
The A&D Market Manager is responsible for playing a lead role in helping to establish specifications within the A&D community and developing solid relationships with architects, specifiers, and designers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- It is expected that the A&D Market Manager be the main link between the territory sales team and A&D community.
- The A&D Market Manager is a sales position and is salary plus team incentive base. The A&D Market Manager is part of a territory team and is expected to share in team business planning, strategizing, forecasting and team goals.
- Responsible to report industry and market intelligence to the Director of A&D and leadership team through regularly scheduled conference calls along with scheduled team calls with other A&D Market Managers to share best practices.
- Expected to be a local expert on the A&D community and is accountable to build key relationships with designers and targeted firms.
- Responsible for attending after hours networking and social events on a weekly basis.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate.
- Successfully market to the design community (architects, engineers, consultants, etc....)
- When needed, collaborate, and educate dealer designers, A&D dealer sales representatives and their clients
- Travel is required within the assigned territory and at times outside the territory to assist or lead in presenting and educating current and potential customers
- Focus appropriate resources provided on the design community (marketing collateral, product samples, etc.....)
- Influence the criteria that A&D firms use for product specifications and being able to effectively respond to technical questions concerning product application
- Participate as needed in dealer and end-user visits to assist the Market Sales Manager and our dealers
- Provide design positioning training on new products and market trends within the assigned territory and when needed to the region sales team
- Manage within assigned expense budget
- Instruct and coordinate CEU events within the assigned territory and at times within the region
- Perform additional training and selling responsibilities as requested
- Proven history or ability to demonstrate safe, responsible behavior, and a positive performance record (including attendance

- Ability to lead and influence the A&D community and our customers on the value of doing business with us
- Ability to act as the A&D leader within the territory and support the Regional Sales Director, team goals, and objectives
Business Skills:
- Promote strategic and tactical opportunity planning through consistent communication with immediate team members and remote members
Technical Skills:
- A strong knowledge of design software and the ability to continuously learn and embrace technology software tools used in our environment
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate would be located near Houston, TX to support the South Central markets.
- Previous furniture or related industry experience with a successful track record calling or working within the A&D community
- Undergraduate degree and/or 5 years in the furniture industry or related industry
- Field sales experience preferred.
