Material Manager (Oklahoma City)

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Global Service Organization's Material Team, ensuring efficient procurement and supply chain processes for spare parts and product repair materials. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, optimizing sourcing strategies, and aligning procurement activities with service production requirements. Your responsibilities will include supervising the Material Handling Group in OKC, the Spare Parts Administrator, and the Global Forecast Lead, while driving performance through data-driven KPIs and cross-functional collaboration. You will also evaluate supplier performance, mitigate risks, and analyze contracts to ensure alignment with business needs and industry standards, supporting the evolving requirements of the Global Service Organization.

You will play a key role in developing and executing procurement strategies that are both cost-effective and aligned with the operational goals of the Global Service Organization. This includes reviewing forecast entries from service centers, creating and approving purchase orders, and ensuring alignment with production needs. You will monitor supplier performance using established scorecards and KPIs, communicate supplier status updates, and proactively address material risks. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze quotations and contracts, ensuring compliance with standards and alignment with business objectives. Your role will also involve managing supplier communications, mitigating risks, and supporting special projects or evolving supply chain needs related to forecasting and service operations.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Location: based in Oklahoma City.

  • Education: a bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Over 5 years of experience in supply chain management and material planning within a global company

    • Strong expertise in supplier interaction, negotiation, and procurement strategy development

    • In-depth understanding of shipping, receiving materials, and procurement processes

  • Competencies:

    • Advanced computer skills

    • Strong communication abilities

    • Ability to work effectively across cultures

    • Proven people management skills

  • Licenses/Certifications:Not specified

  • Travel Requirements:Less than 25%
