The Opportunity: This position is ideal for an experienced software engineer who is passionate about collaborating with business and technology partners and engineers to solve challenging business problems. You will be the lead engineer of the Risk and Identity development team to design and build of software solutions that leverage data to solve critical and strategic business problems, build tools and services that safeguard Visa's payment systems, including idea generation, architecture, design, development, and testing of products, applications, and services that provide Visa clients with solutions to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud for Visa and Visa client payment systems. A successful candidate should have in-depth software engineering skills that can guide the other team members on day-to-day tasks, familiarity of software development cycles to communicate with stakeholders effectively, great learning capabilities that can zoom in and out of projects based on business needs, and broad knowledge of Database, Data Engineering, GenAI and Web technologies. Essential Functions:
- Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa's internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability
- Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings
- Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads
- Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.

- Design and Develop Data Pipelines: Create and maintain scalable data pipelines to support data integration, transformation, and loading processes.
- Data Warehousing: Design, implement, and manage data warehousing solutions to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Data Quality and Governance: Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance by implementing best practices and data validation techniques.
- ETL Processes: Develop and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move data from various sources into data warehouses or other storage solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs. Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize data processing and storage solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Data Security: Implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Documentation and Presentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data engineering processes, systems, and workflows. Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner
- Ownership: Drive release planning exercise, track development and testing to timely releases. Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 4 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or 3 years of work experience with a PhD in Computer Science or related discipline or 8+ years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in Java Spring boot and API security
- Proficiency in implementing design patterns and hands on knowledge of Spring, hibernate and RDBMS technologies like SQL Server, Oracle or similar and No SQL technology like MongoDB is preferred.
- Proven skills in technologies like Redis Cache, Tomcat, jQuery + kendo, NodeJS is preferred.
- Experience with web service standards and related patterns (REST, JSON)
- Experience with Agile development incorporating TDD, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, JUnit, Mock frameworks.
- Experience developing large scale, enterprise class distributed system or subsystems that require high availability, low-latency, & strong data consistency computing
- Experience implementing solutions for low-latency, distributed services using open standard technologies.
- Hands-on experience in designing and developing data pipelines, data warehousing solutions, and ETL processes
- Proficiency in data quality, integrity, and governance practices and strong knowledge of performance optimization for data processing and storage solutions
- Experience in implementing and maintaining data security measures
- Familiarity with documentation and presentation of technical solutions
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and effective communication skills to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to different stakeholders
- Experience in guiding and mentoring other team members on day-to-day engineering tasks
- Proven ability to drive development efforts end-to-end for on-time delivery of high-quality solutions

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department. Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.
