The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Director of Quality reports to the AVP Quality Resource Services and Organizational Development and is responsible for the effective implementation of a comprehensive, hospital wide quality assurance and patient safety program. This position is also responsible for performance improvement initiatives, peer review oversight, outcomes management, external reporting, accreditation/regulatory compliance and insuring that the hospital is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required,
  • Masters degree preferred,
  • CPHQ, CPPS or other process improvement certification required,
  • Ten years of management experience in acute care settings with at least 5 years responsibility for quality, safety and/or standards management,
  • Demonstrates proficiency in NAHQ s Healthcare Quality Competency Framework, 8 Domains,

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements a structure for continual survey readiness, with oversight for all accreditation and regulatory activities,
  • Develops, implements and maintains a process to ensure all policies and procedures are in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards,
  • Ensures compliance with all mandatory reporting requirements,
  • Facilitates and supports Departmental QA and PI structure and processes,
  • Facilitates and supports Departmental quality assurance and process improvement structure and processes, including both clinical and non-clinical process improvement and team management activities throughout CMC,
  • Provides organizational and change management leadership, and provide PI education throughout CMC, ensuring adoption and use of a standardized model for improvement,
  • Executes a strategic quality improvement and patient safety plan,
  • In collaboration with the AVP of Quality, senior leaders and the Board, implements a strategic quality and patient safety plan across the organization,
  • Assists the organization to develop strategic PI priorities that are reflected in the quality scorecard and public reporting, cascaded throughout the organization and supported by PI resources when a need for improvement is identified,
  • Interacts, educates and collaborates regularly with leaders and frontline team members to drive the quality agenda forward at CMC,
  • Assists the organization to further its High Reliability Organizational journey reflected in the patient safety and HRO information cascaded throughout the organization and supported by resources,
  • Partners closely with Risk Management, the HRO/Patient Safety Committees and Infection Control to ensure and improve patient safety across the organization,
  • Supports the medical staff,
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and support to medical staff leaders in development, implementation and monitoring of hospital peer review program, including focused reviews
