DLO Part Time Specimen Prep Tech I

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma- Oklahoma, City, OK Monday-Friday 12pm-4pm

Essential Functions of Employment with DLO:
* Show up for work, on time & prepared each and every scheduled work day
* Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processing that you may be over-qualified to perform
* Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each and every scheduled work day & work as a collaborative team member with your fellow teammates on a daily basis

Responsible for general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department.Functions may include but not limited to presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, centrifugation and aliquoting. Position requires data entry functions with an understanding of specimen types related to tests ordered by the client.

• Able to identify problems with specimen types, missing information, etc.
• Ability to research test ordering information on translation tables, computer system, and the directory of services.
• Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and works in a production environment.
• Communicates effectively with all levels of staff.
• Maintains composure while working under pressure.

• Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
• Position requires strong data entry skills.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

• Position requires data background with abilities to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour
• Works in a biohazard environment, practicing good safetyhabits
• Able to sit or stand for longperiods
• Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and works in a productionenvironment
