Job Duties:
We are seeking a Research Specialist to join the Immunology Service Unit at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center (WNPRC). The successful candidate will support research focused on antibody and cell-mediated immune responses to viral pathogens, immunotherapeutics, and vaccine development. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Designing and conducting immunologic assays * Processing tissue and blood samples * Preparing test articles and viral stocks for experimental use * Performing laboratory techniques such as cell culture, lymphocyte isolation, flow cytometry, PCR, ELISA, and cell sorting Additional duties involve data analysis, maintaining detailed and organized laboratory records, assisting with general lab upkeep, and training new team members. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced research environment. Biosafety Level 3 (BL-3) training and certification will be provided upon hire Key Job Responsibilities:
Department: UWMSN | OVCR | WNPRC Immunology Services Compensation: Starting annual rate of $46,700 Required Qualifications: Strong consideration will be given to candidates with a solid foundation in immunology, virology, or molecular biology, particularly those with hands-on experience in cell culture and/or flow cytometry. Applicants should demonstrate excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Preferred Qualifications: While prior laboratory experience outside of a classroom setting is preferred, recent graduates with relevant academic training are also encouraged to apply.
