About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contracts Manager who wants to join a dedicated in-house legal team at a growing public company in the space sector. This role reports directly to the Associate General Counsel with a dotted line to the Director of USG Contracts and Global Proposals. The primary responsibilities of the role include reviewing and negotiating agreements with Planet's vendors and suppliers for both products and services. In addition this role will provide support for contract and proposal operations, including updating our contracts management system and submitting vendor registrations for sales-side agreements.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience managing and supporting the full lifecycle of contracts, from negotiation and drafting to execution and closeout. Candidates with experience in manufacturing, space, government, or emerging technology industries will stand out. This is a full-time, hybrid position which will require you to work from our San Francisco HQ or Arlington Office 3 days per week.

Impact You'll Own:



  • Intake, review, negotiate and finalize agreements for Data Processing, SaaS, NDAs, and procurement statements of work for hardware, software, and other company vendors in line with company processes and legal requirements.
  • Draft subcontractor services agreements in line with sales-side agreements to ensure rights and obligations align with client specifications.
  • Identify potential contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure proposal execution, including preparing vendor registrations, maintaining customer portal credentials, obtaining notarizations/apostilles and bank guarantees, and other required documentation.
  • Update and maintain accurate records in our contracts management systems.
  • Form trusted partnership with internal stakeholders (e.g., product, sales, and procurement) and external parties (e.g., vendors, subcontractors).
  • Support improvements to Planet's legal department by streamlining processes, forms, and operations.
  • Other project support as required.


What You Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to learn and follow standardized processes and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Google and Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor communication to the target audience.

Compensation:

The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

San Francisco Salary Range
$128,400 $160,500 USD
US National Salary Range
$112,900 $141,100 USD
