**must be able to be onsite in Newark, DE 3 days/week** Our customer is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Quality Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about automated testing, Java development, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) validation. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our enterprise applications. At least 40% of your time will be spent writing and maintaining Java code, so strong programming skills are a must. You'll also design and execute automated tests using Selenium WebDriver, and validate APIs and services in a SOA environment. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Java Build and execute UI automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver Develop and run automated tests for SOAP/REST APIs and SOA-based services Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA analysts to define test strategies and acceptance criteria Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) Analyze test results, identify root causes, and work with teams to resolve issues Maintain test environments and data for consistent and repeatable testing Contribute to code reviews and mentor junior QA engineers on automation best practices Required Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience in software testing and automation Strong proficiency in Java (minimum 40% of role involves coding) Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and test frameworks like TestNG or JUnit Experience testing SOAP/REST APIs and working in SOA environments Familiarity with tools like Postman, SoapUI, or ReadyAPI Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) Solid understanding of software QA methodologies and Agile development Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber) Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) Knowledge of containerization and cloud platforms (e.g., Docker, AWS) Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git) *Skills* Java, Automation, Selenium, Test automation, Api *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr.
