*Description*
* Install and upgrade RNG (Random Number Generator) devices in Microsoft data centers, ensuring proper network port connectivity and performing break/fix tasks as needed. * Prepare, stage, and set up hardware components (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) and execute startups and shutdowns following detailed instructions and standard protocols. * Collaborate with network engineers to validate Layer 1 connectivity for provisioning switches and routers. * Conduct post-installation quality checks to verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling meet safety and deployment standards. * Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, identifying root causes and replacing faulty components on servers and network devices. * Decommission hardware for tech refreshes, including memory upgrades and OS rebuilds, with minimal supervision. * Follow escalation procedures to report incidents to Datacenter Technician Leads. * Perform daily safety checks and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with client standards. * Maintain continuous communication with the client, providing regular updates on project and daily task status. *Top Skills Details* * lHardware Installation & Support * Experience installing network gateways, servers, and structured cabling in data center environments. * Structured Cabling * Proficient with RK45, Cat5, and Cat6 cable installation, routing, and management. * Layer 1 Network Troubleshooting * Ability to validate and troubleshoot physical connectivity between servers, routers, and switches. * Team Collaboration * Comfortable working in large teams (30+ technicians) and coordinating tasks across shifts. * Physical Stamina & Safety Awareness * Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs with a partner and performing daily safety checks and equipment inspections. * Shift Flexibility * Willingness to work A/B day and night shifts without advance notice if coverage is already in place. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* * Certifications (Preferred): * Microsoft Azure * Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) * (Note: CompTIA+ is not preferred) * Experience Requirements: * Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience without formal education/certifications * 4-5 months of experience with relevant education and certifications * Preferred Backgrounds: * Military experience * Desktop support with certifications * IT infrastructure or structured cabling experience * Personal Traits: * Hands-on, hardware-focused mindset * Strong attention to detail and adherence to protocols * Not suited for helpdesk-only backgrounds *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
