Description

This is a full time, benefited, day shift RN OR Supervisor position. It is a salary role working an 8 hour shift 5 days a week with some flexibility on the start time. There is administrative call on rotating weekends and some call on week nights. The location is at Scripps Chula Vista.

This position is eligible for a New Hire Bonus up to $8.5K. Also, includes the Management Incentive Compensation Plan (MICP) at the Supervisor level.

Scripps OR team in Chula Vista is a small group with a nice culture and minimal employee turnover!

As the Supervisor of 4 OR suites (Preop/PACU and Main OR) you will work with the OR team to ensure the nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. This role is approximately 30% clinical/70ministrative. You will oversee around 30 employees ( RNs, CST, PCAs).

Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, shares leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans, attending meetings, making rounds and attending to the needs in the department. Also, ensures appropriate and timely use of bed placement technology and adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge. Ensures the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.

* Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:



  • Two years applicable OR clinical experience, one of which in a leadership role. (Charge OR RN experience is accepted).
  • Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.
  • Graduate of an accredited program.


Required Certification/Registration:



  • Maintains current California RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider and all competencies/certifications required of the charge RN on the unit.


Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:



  • BSN and/or certification in area of specialty if applicable.
  • 3-5 years of OR RN experience is preferred
  • 2 years of leadership experience is preferred
  • CNOR certificate
