Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an Operational Analyst to support the 53rd Test and Evaluation Group (TEG) Experimental Operations Unit (EOU) at Creech AFB, NV.
Candidate will be responsible for work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting the initial standup and follow-on experimental operations of the Air Force's first Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) unit. This position has the primary responsibility of advising and assisting the EOU initial cadre with support in using advanced analytical and modeling techniques to solve complex problems while executing experimental operations with CCA. This position provides warfighter input to drive effective acquisition, test, experimentation, tactics development, and fielding of CCA inside the Next-Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) family of systems. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operators, maintainers, contract vendors, and analysts, and will have strong problem-solving, adaptability, communication, leadership, and attention to detail skills.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidate will apply in-depth technical knowledge to provide the Experimental Operations Unit (EOU) support in using advanced analytical and modeling techniques to solve complex problems while executing experimental operations with CCA.
Essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
  • Assist in the development of experimental operations plans including concept/scenario development, experimental objectives and points, overall execution, debrief, and after action/experimentation reports
  • Collaborate with engineers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and project managers to define data collection requirements for upcoming experimental operations events
  • Leverage sophisticated analytical techniques, including AI and Machine Learning to process vast experimental datasets, identify patterns, predict outcomes, and inform iterative development
  • Develop and refine analytical models to predict outcomes, assess effectiveness, or identify optimal operational parameters
  • Collect and consolidate data from various sources (e.g., sensor logs, debrief transcripts, simulation outputs, flight test data, human performance metrics)
  • Participate in post-experiment debriefs with operators and technical teams to gather qualitative insights that complement quantitative data
  • Analyze post-mission data to inform After Action Report (AAR)/Experimentation Report writing processes
  • Draft comprehensive analytical reports, technical notes, and white papers detailing methodologies, findings, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Transform complex experimental data and analytical findings into clear, concise, and compelling visual or written representations and narratives for diverse stakeholders (commanders, operators, engineers, policymakers)
  • Provide constructive feedback and data-driven insights to design teams, system developers, and operational planners for iterative improvement
  • Be prepared to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations to support the EOU
  • Candidate may also be tasked to advise and assist on additional TEG initiatives
Required Skills:
  • Candidate will have at least 5+ years' experience as an Operations Analyst or in a related quantitative field
  • Experience in test or experimentation management/execution. Candidate should be familiar with operational test, developmental test, or experimental operations policies, practices, and procedures
  • Strong ability to work and lead in a team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills
  • The successful candidate will have good analytic skills and be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment
  • Knowledge of statistical methods for data analysis and problem identification
  • Strong skills in documenting analytical questions, capability gaps, and solution neutral requirements
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • 5+ years' experience as an Operations Analyst, Flight Test Analyst, or related field in USAF, USN, or USMC Fighter Developmental/Operational Test or Experimental Operations units
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, AFSIM, JAAM, JMP, or other similar analysis tools
  • Initiative, project ownership, and the ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance
  • Strong writing and briefing/debriefing skills
  • Creativity and willingness to experiment with new ideas and processes
  • Strong background in Special Access Required (SAR) programs is highly desired
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in related STEM field
Security Clearance:
  • TS clearance with in-scope SSBI required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SCI/SAP clearances required. Current SCI desired
  • All hires will be contingent on candidate meeting requirements for and gaining required security clearances
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel is expected and based on mission requirement
  • Non-traditional work hours will be required at times
  • Expectation is that work will be performed onsite
  • Occasional telework options may be available with approval from mission partner
