POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Operations Services, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer supporting Tinker Air Force Base located in Oklahoma City, OK. The Mechanical Engineer researches, designs, builds, and tests mechanical and thermal devices, including tools, engines, and machines to ensure the continuous operation, maintenance, and improvement of facilities' mechanical infrastructure. This position provides efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small component designs to extremely large plants, machinery, or vehicles, and identifies problems with various machinery using CAD technology to build product designs.



  • Develops and implements a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Rapidly responds to mechanical system failures, conducts root cause analysis, and coordinates repairs to minimize downtime and ensure the facility's reliability.
  • Identifies and implements energy-efficient strategies to optimize cooling and HVAC systems, reducing operational costs while maintaining industry-leading performance.
  • Analyzes, designs, and documents mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, for a wide variety of project types and sizes.
  • Interacts with clients, contractors, consultants, and manufacturer representatives.
  • Collaborates with other design disciplines to develop creative and integrated design solutions.
  • Engages with other mechanical team members to manage multiple projects and tasks as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ensures the facility complies with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices related to mechanical systems and environmental controls.
  • Uses monitoring tools to assess the performance of mechanical systems, analyze data, and implement improvements to enhance the facility's efficiency and reliability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited University.
  • 7 years of Commercial (non-residential) project experience, including at least five (5) years' experience in a project lead role, and at least two (2) years of public/governmental organization experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, and a desire to continue learning
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications and Experience:



  • May possess a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification
  • Professional engineering licensure is preferred
