Description and Requirements

The Senior Manager, Event Security, Executive Protection, & Investigations is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing comprehensive security strategies for Lenovo's major corporate events and executive engagements worldwide. This role ensures the safety of Lenovo executives, employees, and attendees while maintaining the integrity of Lenovo's brand and operations.

In addition to event security coordination, the role leads sensitive internal investigations related to security incidents, policy violations, and potential threats. The ideal candidate brings a blend of event security planning, investigative experience, and stakeholder engagement in a global environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event & Executive Security Coordination
  • Develop and implement scalable, risk-based security plans for Lenovo's major events, including product launches, global summits, and executive offsites.
  • Coordinate executive protection efforts for Lenovo's senior leadership by managing advance planning, travel logistics, and on-site security support in collaboration with internal teams and third-party providers.
  • Conduct comprehensive venue risk assessments and coordinate with internal stakeholders, venue security, law enforcement, and third-party vendors.
  • Leverage real-time intelligence and threat analysis to inform proactive security decisions and mitigate emerging risks.
  • Lead incident response planning and emergency protocols for events, including tabletop exercises, after-action reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as Lenovo's security lead for high-visibility events, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams, external partners, and law enforcement.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and reporting for all major events, including risk assessments, incident logs, and post-event evaluations
  • Conduct and manage internal investigations involving threats, misconduct, or security breaches, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Compliance teams to support investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed investigative reports, evidence logs, and case files in accordance with Lenovo's policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze trends and patterns from investigations to inform proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Lenovo's global security, legal, communications, and facilities teams to ensure alignment with corporate policies and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage third-party security vendors, including contract negotiations, performance oversight, and compliance with Lenovo standards.
  • Support the development and enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), training programs, and performance metrics for event and executive security.
  • Integrate new technologies and innovative practices into Lenovo's event security operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive a security-first mindset across the organization by educating stakeholders and promoting awareness of security best practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local, state, federal, and international law enforcement agencies and global security partners.
  • Support compliance with global security regulations and industry standards, ensuring Lenovo's practices remain current and legally sound.
  • Contribute to broader corporate risk management initiatives, including business continuity planning and crisis response coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in security management, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in executive protection coordination, event security, corporate security operations, or government/law enforcement roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing security for high-profile events and C-suite executives.
  • Strong knowledge of security risk assessment methodologies and emergency response planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the year.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Experience in a global technology or Fortune 500 environment.
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or similar certification.
  • Background in law enforcement, military, or intelligence services.
  • Familiarity with international security protocols and cultural considerations.
  • Proficiency in security technologies, surveillance systems, and access control tools.
  • Experience supporting security operations in high-risk or politically sensitive regions.
  • Multilingual capabilities or experience working in multilingual environments.

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $120-145K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
