Main Purpose of the Job: The Manager, Strategy Finance Co-Pilot is aleadership position responsible creating, evaluating and implementing value creation initiatives for the Nestle Waters & Premium Beverages (NWPB) Americas Cluster. As the co-pilot to the Sr Director of Strategy for the Americas Cluster, this role provides independent and objective financial analysis, insights, and expertise to influence decision making and drive business results. The Manager, Strategy Finance Co-Pilot provides strategic, long-term financial guidance and partners with the Global and Local organizations to maximize performance inform future strategies. They also provideleadership in actively coaching and developing team members. This key role is a member of the NWPB Finance Leadership Team and reports directly to the VP Finance, Americas Cluster Key Outputs/Deliverables: Reporting & Analysis
- Builds sophisticated financial models to support decision making. Has a deep understanding of the levers of value for the NWPB portfolio.
- Works closely with Decision Support and FP&A in order to provide quality financial information that influences and drives positive business results and identifies and anticipates potential risks and opportunities. Review and analyze actual monthly results to provide sound financial recommendations to improve operating costs or grow top line sales profitability. Challenge the financial brand P&L.
- Coordinates and oversees activities related to the monthly financial close, review of the financial statements, preparation of monthly division management performance reporting/KPI's/scorecards and meeting corporate financial reporting requirements.
- Ensures quality information is used by the business for decision making and that potential risks and opportunities are anticipated and understood. Promotes the use of external and internal information for benchmarking. Reviews monthly performance and identifies areas of risk to achieving targets and forecasts and develops follow-up/action plans.
Innovation
- Supports business innovation/renovation by evaluating the feasibility and performance of new products and other Value Creation initiatives. Analyze and challenge the product portfolio, class of trade (channel) and route-to-market to identify cost optimization opportunities, eliminate Value Destroyers and maximize the return on investment from TTS/PFME.
Business Planning
- Oversees the preparation and review of the annual Operating Plan, MBS and monthly dynamic forecasts, ensuring coordination of activities/information across functions within the business unit to provide accurate forecasts/budgets.
- Support team(s) in preparing and negotiatingwith customer(s) to achieve commitment on key Joint Business Planning metrics.
- Collaborates closely with the Global NWPB Finance and Supply Chain teams to ensure clarity and alignment on key initiatives.
- Evaluates strategic business plans and ensures accuracy of underlying data and assumptions.
- Ensures cross-functional team compliance with internal, external and operational audit requirements.
Qualifications:
- University Degree (BA/BS) in Business, Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7years experience in Accounting/Finance function
- Experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders required
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical problem solving skills
- Superior execution skills in a changing environment and ability to multi-task
- Good with numbers and data, but critically important to be able to deliver the message to non-finance professionals
- Proven ability to not only deliver, but drive excellent work in a team and matrix organization
- Proven analytical thinking and ability to 'see the big picture'
- Proven ability to quickly learn and drive new concepts and processes
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Good knowledge of the business environment/competition/capacity to benchmark
- Good working knowledge of product portfolio and brand profitability
- Good knowledge of Nestle Costing (CSM, CSD, CSW) [Internal Candidates Only]
- Proven knowledge of financial concepts including cost accounting, activity based costing, cash flow, NPV, IRR, ROI, etc
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
