Overview

The Onboarding Specialist facilitates and assists newly hired candidates through their required pre-employment activities to prepare them for their first day of work in their designated line of business. They perform various tasks, including data entry, scheduling background checks, pre-employment testing, and monitoring of employee files in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A successful Onboarding Specialist possesses excellent customer service, judgment, and problem-solving skills.



Responsibilities

    Own and ensure a positive, straightforward experience for all new hires throughout the pre-employment process, including offer letters, background checks, MVR, and reference checks
  • Coordinate all communication between newly hired candidates and the hiring team, including HR, hiring manager, and recruiter
  • Escalate background check and other pre-employment screening issues to the appropriate parties in the HR Benefits and / or Compliance departments
  • Educate and provide information to newly hired candidates to ensure clarity on what they need to do to prepare for their first day of employment
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on onboarding systems and tools, including the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and the background screening solution
  • Ensure timely and accurate system input of newly hired candidate information
  • Drive urgency in getting candidates on board, with a high degree of responsiveness to candidate needs and hiring manager inquiries


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent related experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in administrative support or recruiting
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills with an attention to detail
  • Experience in establishing high standards of service delivery to customers and clients
  • Knowledge of HR and EEOC policies is helpful
  • Ability to react quickly and with a sense of urgency to requests, issues, e-mails, or other events in a timely and flexible fashion
  • Travel 0-25%
