Pasteurizer Operator (HTST)

Starting pay of $26.40

Rates will increase based on annual pay rate adjustments as defined by the union contract.

General Purpose:

The HTST Operator is responsible for running the pasteurizer machine and process. Their job duties include machine set up, mixing product, cleaning, routine maintenance, and operation. The HTST Operator will check on tanks, machine operation, labs, and perform other duties.

Schedule

Thursday-Saturday, every other Sunday

6pm-6am, 12 hour shifts

Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Start up, operate and shut down HTST #1 and HTST #2.
  • Standardize and formulate all products to be made according to Kemps specifications.
  • Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and sanitize both HTST #1 and #2 as required.
  • Follow and adhere to all Kemps and Regulatory standard operating procedures
  • Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and sanitize all raw and pasteurized tanks, lines, vats, and associated parts.
  • Understand and operate all raw and pasteurized CIP systems.
  • Check chemical concentrations and properly record results on all CIP circuits completed each day.
  • Perform all required quality checks on raw milk received including but not limited to all antibiotic test as needed.
  • Perform Spec's work orders as assigned.
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices as defined by Kemps.
  • Complete all record keeping in a neat and accurate manner including but not limited to chart records, receiving records, batch records, and formulation records.
  • Maintain work area keeping it clean and free of clutter.


Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities





  • Working knowledge of general business concepts and practices, especially as they related to the dairy business
  • Familiarity with fundamental mechanical concepts and practices with an emphasis on dairy industry production practices, processes, and equipment




Requirements



  • Ability to work safely in manufacturing and warehouse environment, including ability to understand/practice GMP to maintain food safety/quality including work area housekeeping and sanitation
  • Ability to multi-task, monitor and use equipment, troubleshoot, maintain pace and productivity, and understand the role requirements/duties for various plant roles
  • Physical demands of the position: Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Handling, Carrying Overhead, and Reaching
  • Ability to work overnight shift and weekends (including some Sundays); and overtime
  • Self-disciplined
  • Must be able to work in 35-37 F environment
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Education - High School Diploma or GED preferred
