Job Summary

The Medical Imaging Services Manager and Medical Imaging Services Advanced Imaging Manager is responsible for supporting and leading the MIS Leadership Team at Rapid City Hospital, and developing the MIS team with innovative MIS service line planning in alignment with the Senior Director of Medical Imaging Services. Responsible and accountable to ensure the Department Goals and Objectives are aligned with Monument Health's Strategic plans, as well as meet the requirements of the Joint Commission, and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory accrediting agencies. Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and direct the daily operation of assigned areas and staff.
  • Develop implement, maintain and enforce departmental programs, policies, procedures, and protocols. Ensure and maintain required documentation for compliance with safety, environmental and infection control standards, and with local, state, FDA, ACR, JCAHO and HIPPA regulations. Monitor compliance with standards, identify variances or inabilities to meet established targets, and implement action to ensure that targets are met.
  • Direct the maintenance of department facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a condition to promote efficient, safe, and effective services for patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Develop and foster collaboration among clinical departments and affiliated services to ensure an integrated and coordinated approach to providing Imaging services and resolution of customer complaints or problems. Collaborate with physicians and staff to resolve problems and provide advice concerning technical procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  • Perform all personnel functions including hiring, evaluations, promotions, disciplinary process, and scheduling. Ensure that all employees are properly oriented, trained, and that annual competencies, certifications, and licensure and education requirements are current. Ensure that all personnel are properly trained on equipment and competent in its use.
  • Enhance professional growth and development of department staff through participation in educational programs, current literature, in- service meetings and workshops. Plan, develop and provide continuing education and training.
  • Work with leadership to reduce costs, enhance revenues, and achieve effective use of imaging services.
  • Manage the operating budget within assigned area. Review productivity and labor analysis and adjust staff to meet budget and flex FTE allotment. Create operational adjustments to ensure operating budgets targets are met.
  • Evaluate and recommend supplies, new equipment purchase selection and technologies; provide justification and prioritization of such needs; order procedural and operational supplies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:
Education - Bachelors degree in Related Healthcare Field or 3 years leadership experience and5+ years of Medical Imaging Experience

Graduate -Radiology Program

Experience - 3+ years of Team Lead/Supervisor Experience, 5+ years of Medical Imaging Experience
Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - Accredited University or accredited training professionals.

Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:
Experience -5+ years of Management Experience, 7+ years of Medical Imaging Experience

**Policy Number: MIS-7040-115 - Caregivers must be BLS certified upon employment or within their 90-day probation period.

Physical Requirements: Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
