OSI Laser Diode, a division of OSI Optoelectronics has an opening for a Buyer. This individual is r
esponsible for all purchasing activities of our facility. Also responsible for inventory planning, maintaining inventory stock levels for required production, gathering quotes and placing all supplier purchase orders. In addition, their responsibilities include correspondence between company and suppliers, delivery schedules, qualification reports, returns, and work orders for outsourcing labor. Other items include some AP processing, cost reductions reports, and D365 data entry.


Responsibilities

  • Placing purchase orders, gathering quotes, D365 data entry, and supplier correspondence.
  • Component material planning, reviewing reorder levels, and altering delivery schedules as needed.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers to achieve best pricing, quality and delivery terms.
  • Part qualification reports.
  • Supplier corrective action reports (SCAR).
  • In-house meetings with suppliers.
  • Accounts payable data entry in D365, mostly at month-end to ensure all material purchases are entered. Gather and organize paperwork for AP hard copy files.
  • Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Two years' work experience in a related field within a production / manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite required.
  • ERP/MRP software experience desired.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in the business language (English).
