Overview:

Sentara Martha Jefferson Outpatient Surgery Center is hiring a Central Sterile Services Tech II for a full time day shift position. The hours are 7am-330PM Monday to Friday. No nights or weekends.

Outpatient Surgery Center at Pantops offers high-quality care within a collaborative environment that includes registered nurses, surgical techs, sterile services, and support staff, all overseen by a highly trained and experienced management team. The outpatient surgery center features dedicated admit recovery and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) services. With four operating rooms, the facility provides a range of surgical services, including orthopedic procedures, as well as breast, gynecology, plastics, ENT, urology, ophthalmology, and pediatrics.

The Central Sterile Services Technician II is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards. Examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel. Ensure compliance with all established local and federal health and safety regulations.

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
Certification/Licensure
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Required
Experience
  • 1 year of experience as a Sterile Services Technician required
  • Experience in outpatient surgery preferred
  • Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments preferred
