Summary:
The Trauma Registrar role is responsible for the identification, collection and management of health, medical and outcome information on all trauma patients. Responsible for abstracting and coding specific patient, injuries and treatment information and for maintaining and updating existing patient records.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Associate's Degree in Biomedical, Medical Records or Medical Technician program or equivalent work experience in medical coding or cancer registry required.
  2. License/Certifications: Certified Trauma Registrar (CSTR) preferred or must complete within two years of employment.
  3. Experience: See Education
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Medical Terminology, human anatomy and physiology knowledge.
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A
