Inova Orthopedics Services is looking for a dedicated Clinic Nurse Manager to join the team. .This role will be full-time, day shift Monday- Friday.

The Clinic Nurse Manager oversees assigned area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks. Ensures compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements and the Joint Commission standards. Serves as a primary liaison and information resource for the clinic while overseeing the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic and evidence-based environment which produces excellent patient care with optimal patient outcomes. Utilizes the quality process and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the clinic.

Job Responsibilities


  • Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, hiring and training team members, creating and implementing business strategies, managing performance of team members, and delegating tasks.
  • Continuously seeks ways to improve by ensuring implementation of evidence-based practices such as, but not limited to, discharge phone calls, leadership rounding (i.e. patients, physicians and internal customers), AIDET and HML conversations.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of a patient safety program and ensures that staff is clinically competent/trained in their role in patient safety. Monitors NSI performance on a daily basis. Conducts education and mock MSETs. Participates in clinic specific drills.
  • Ensures additional overflow support for serious incidents.
  • Works with community organizations to develop and maintain contracts as appropriate.
  • Establishes performance expectations and regularly provides direction, feedback and guidance to team members. Facilitates and supports the professional growth and development of staff. Monitors turnover/vacancy rates and works with staff to identify best practices/improvement opportunities. Ensures that all team members possess and maintain proper assessment and clinical skills appropriate for the patient population. Collaborates in the development/implementation of an educational plan for identified staff needs related to patient population. Monitors staff engagement, develops impact plans to continually improve staff engagement and communicates engagement results to staff.
  • Assists in the development of patient care quality improvement goals at the clinic level by defining and monitoring, with the use of national and organizational benchmarks, metrics that target evidence based outcomes.
  • Utilizes the Joint Commission standards, nursing practice tools and research to support a care delivery system that produces quality care with optimal outcomes. Incorporates data and information to continually improve operations.
  • Ensures execution and documentation of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid core indicators when appropriate. Ensures compliance with infection control standards. Monitors patient and physician satisfaction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certification - Basic Life Support; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 6 Months for Critical Care

Licensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse

Experience - 2 years of clinical experience related to the unit's scope

Education - Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous leadership experience (team lead, charge nurse, supervisory, management, etc)

Previous experience with orthopedics
