SHIFT: Day (United States of America)Bioinformatics Engineer I - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA): Support computational environments focused on the management, transfer, formatting, and processing of complex data types associated with genomics and proteomics. Support the bioinformatics analytical groups and assist in the implementation of basic systems for data manipulation and analysis pipelines, applications, and bioinformatics-specific hardware configurations. Collaborate with bioinformatics group members to develop functioning pipelines upstream of customized analysis workflow, maintain data pipelines, and execute development testing for commonly used applications. Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, plan, and execute the development of platforms that support healthcare research. Develop infrastructure automation for efficient resource management across multiple environments using Terragrunt and Terraform. Deploy and maintain scalable Kubernetes-based applications, ensuring secure and high-performance applications in production, and facilitating large-scale data analysis and research. Assist with building and maintaining secure cloud environments for the Arcus research platforms, ensuring robust data privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics or a related field and 1 year of experience working with bioinformatics data, Cloud infrastructure, and containerization, including developing bioinformatics pipelines in a Cloud environment and building ETL pipelines to transfer NGS/bioinformatics data, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage IT infrastructure, and Docker for containerization, as well as LINUX, R and Python.
