Performance Health is seeking a Global Category Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the assortment of products we sell by organizing product groups based on customer needs, enabling opportunities for consolidation, efficiency and innovation. Responsible for providing P&L oversight, improving profit margin within category portfolio, focusing on product innovation, conducting market, customer and competitor analysis for portfolio curation, analyzing category performance to drive volume, profit and operational efficiency, and work with procurement on sourcing strategy.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead global category optimization efforts in assigned category to achieve revenue and profitability goal
  • Review periodic financial performance and sales trends including country and segment analysis. Analyze contributing factors to performance and impact of competitive strategies and prepare regular metrics as defined by leadership
  • Develop product portfolios based on geographic locations and channels and clearly define 'good-better-best' and fill gaps within category
  • Work with product/brand team to identify branded product opportunities and support new product development using the stage gate process
  • Conduct annual global SKU rationalization and assign substitute items for discontinued products
  • Foster positive relationships with vendors in conjunction with vendor management to secure exclusive contracts, access to new products and pricing
  • Working collaboratively within the global marketing department to help define and drive marketing excellence
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of prior marketing, category management or product management or other equivalent job experience; including global responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Proven experience bringing products to market
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Products; Excel skills including v-lookups, pivot tables, Power Point
  • Must be a "self-starter" comfortable with taking initiative
  • Experience managing multiple projects at one time while establishing priorities to meet goals
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, including overnight travel
  • Prefer experience working within a global capacity
  • Healthcare of distribution experience preferred

  • This is a full-time position with a base salary range of $80,000 - $95,000 and the opportunity to earn bonus, plus benefits.
