Strongbridge is seeking an experienced Databricks Developer to join our team and provide development, maintenance, and migration support for a data warehouse project and BI migration.

Candidates must be either a US Citizen, Permanent Resident or EAD that does not require sponsorship now or in the future AND must have lived in the US for the past three years.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Develop, implement, and migrate data models, dashboards, and reports into Databricks.
  • Design and implement reporting and visualization for data sets.
  • Write and optimize scripts and queries.
  • Responsible for analysis, design, and development of a new data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with team members on data and BI migrations.
  • Participate in visualization and data set rationalization.
  • Apply experience to all aspects of the software development lifecycle



Required Skills:



  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering or big data roles.
  • 2+ years in a lead role using Databricks/Spark.
  • Experience in mentoring junior developers and fostering a strong engineering culture.
  • Strong experience in Databricks (including both SQL and PySpark notebooks, Jobs, Workflows, Delta Lake, MLflow).
  • Proficiency in big data frameworks like Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and structured streaming.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms - preferably AWS Databricks, but Azure or GCP is also valued.
  • Deep understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakehouse architecture, and data modeling.
  • Strong programming experience in Python, SQL, and optionally
    Scala or Java.
  • Experience integrating with external data sources, APIs, and on-prem databases.
  • Ability to design end-to-end data pipelines and lakehouse architecture using Databricks.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and performance optimization in Databricks.
  • Familiarity with Unity Catalog, RBAC, and cluster policies.
  • Experience using BI tools such as Tableau.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.



Desired Experience:



  • Experience with machine learning workflows using MLflow or AutoML.
  • Exposure to BI tools (e.g., Oracle BI EE, Tableau) and data catalog tools (e.g., Purview, Alation).
  • Migration of reports from OBIEE/Tableau into Databricks.
  • Knowledge of cost optimization and governance strategies in cloud environments.
  • Databricks or cloud certifications (e.g., Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate/Professional, Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.



Pay Range: $110k-$135k

The posted pay range reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
