The Senior Cloud VDI Engineer will work as part of a team that provides base implementations for new customer projects. The Cloud Engineer will participate in all the technical efforts to successfully migrate a new customer onto the RapidScale platform. They will work very closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) for all new customer implementations.

The Senior Cloud VDI Engineer will be responsible support the design, configuration and maintenance of customer hosted virtual desktop environments, while providing architectural recommendations and management of overall health of services migrating into the RapidScale managed cloud. The position will be a key factor in providing a great customer experience pre and post implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of Desktop as a Service including planning, design, implementation & optimization as a post sales consultant to clients.
  • Develop, define, and maintain architectural standards and supporting documentation while adhering to best practices.
  • Maintains an Advanced knowledge relative to administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure-related technologies.
  • Deliver innovative solutions in diverse environment with shifting priorities, wearing many hats all while driving projects and tasks to completion.
  • Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of customer managed Virtual Desktop infrastructure and more.
  • Monitor customer service performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
  • Provision new customers and provide onboarding assistance and training.
  • Provide support on escalated trouble tickets when necessary.
  • Create documentation for support and service delivery to use and remediate issues.


Qualifications:

  • Citrix certification
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years' experience in a related field
  • At least 6 years of experience in virtual desktop infrastructure design, support, and administration.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and editorial abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with clients at all levels, from executive to IT personnel to end user.
  • Apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope, requiring in-depth evaluation as well as the ability to identify problems in advance, and propose solutions.
  • A proven level of competence with virtual desktop infrastructures like Citrix and Horizon
  • Ability to work on a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Virtualization Experience (VMware, Azure, Hyper-V)
  • Additional VDI Experience (Horizon or Azure Virtual Desktop)
  • N-Able MSP Experience
  • SalesForce Experience
  • Knowledge of managing SSL Certificates.
  • SQL Server Basic understandings.
  • MFA Knowledge and Understanding
    • Duo, Azure, Okta, etc.


USD 119,600.00 - 199,400.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $119,600.00 - $199,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
