The Finance Organization

At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. We're finding new ways to add value and provide strategic support. This is the kind of work we do. We want to build leading FP&A practices within Verizon, setting the stage to become the place any FP&A professional wants to work. You can become a catalyst for change.

Home Commercial Finance:

Responsible for commercial decision support for the Home (FWA / Fios) consumer business, which includes business case analysis related to pricing initiatives/value proposition changes, gap initiatives e.g. Fios video price ups, strategic cases related to M&A and business development. Frontier Integration work would include planning and decision modeling for VCG key synergies to support revenue and expense initiatives, capital allocation decisions, and overall 3 year target. Another new area of the position includes the New Fiber OFS Build modeling which will include intelligence around product offering, # of competitors, mobile market share, population growth, SFU vs. MDU mix. The role will also have ownership of the VZ Broadband expansion model which includes running scenario based planning models for out-of-footprint and in-footprint accelerated build scenarios in conjunction with capital intensity guidance from corp/network, ultimately an output for BoD materials and objectives. Will require working back with Network to implement proposed build economics identifying profitable work centers which meet certain IRR criteria. Overall, the primary accountabilities of this position include:

  • Business Case development for new pricing / value prop initiatives (including acquisition pricing, VEC deals etc)

  • Driving Gap closure initiatives with Marketing partners (requiring post mortem and Business Transformation team alignment)

  • Strategic Cases related to M&A and business development

  • Frontier Integration requires coordination across departments, ownership of P&L impacts and views, Synergy modeling around revenue/expense initiatives, and coordination among IMO - Integration office.

  • Broadband Strategy - New OFS Fiber build modeling, penetration curves, working through accurate reporting, mapping, P&L and capital DCF modeling. Extensive work with Strategy, Network, Capital planning team and Corporate finance for BoD materials.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Management experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).

  • High degree of strategic and analytical capability, including the ability to analyze a large amount of data.

  • Strong strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations; proven ability to structure business case around a high-level strategic vision.

  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices and International Financial Reporting Standards.

  • Advanced understanding of report query and design.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details.

  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.

  • Familiar with Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $115,000.00 - $201,000.00.
