As a Temporary Data Cleaning Specialist in the Mobility Market Research team, you will assist on one or more large research project on the travel behavior of transit riders. These surveys inform key transportation and urban planning decisions.

Temporary Data Cleaning Specialist possess a keen interest in transportation and social science research. They excel in team collaboration and precision in their work. Their responsibilities include reviewing, assessing, and labeling data. Temporary Data Cleaning Specialists become experts in transit trip quality assessment, custom data review tools, and the Microsoft Office ecosystem (SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote) for internal collaboration. As effective team players and communicators, Temporary Data Cleaning Specialists maintain regular communication with RSG staff to manage schedules and ensure smooth survey operations.

Ideal candidates prioritize quality work, data privacy, and process improvement. We seek kind, collaborative and detail-oriented team members who exercise good judgment, communicate clearly, and find creative solutions.

Temporary Data Cleaning Specialists are expected to work between 20-30 hours per week and be available to communicate with RSG staff during regular business hours. Remote opportunity (Can work some hours during regular business hours, but have the flexibility to work independently).

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Supports multiple data cleaning tasks across a large transit survey

RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Supports one or more research projects (e.g., intercept surveys) across North America.





  • Supports analysts with survey data and record cleaning tasks





  • Performs survey dataset labeling





  • Follows internal guidelines for data privacy and responsible use of AI.





  • Contributes to a positive, collaborative work culture.




QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience




  • High school diploma with experience working in fast-paced professional environments. Bachelor's degree preferred.




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities




  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and flexible





  • Demonstrated ability to deliver work on a timeline





  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and on a team





  • Basic proficiency with MS Office tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)





  • Strong aptitude for using technology in work processes





  • Strong written and verbal communication skills





  • High attention to detail and a good sense of quality control





  • Previous experience with data collection or other aspects of scientific studies is desirable, but not necessary





  • High degree of personal accountability to ensure timely, systematic, and consistent performance of tasks





  • Ability to follow directions, standards, and guidelines





  • Effective interpersonal skills




PHYSICAL DEMANDS




  • Frequently involves standing or sitting for prolonged periods.





  • Operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine or computer printer.





  • Frequently communicates with colleagues and clients. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.





  • Ability to lift and carry equipment or materials up to 25lbs.




PAY RANGE

$25.00 - $30.00/hr.
