Job Title: Assistant Director of Research, Music and Arts Department: Dean's Office, School of Music College/Division: School Of Music Primary Job Posting Location: Macon, GA 31207 Additional Job Posting Locations: (Other locations that this position could be based) Job Details: Mercer University is searching for an Assistant Director of Research for Music and Arts on the Macon, Georgia campus. Responsibilities: The Assistant Director of Research supports the strategic development, coordination, and implementation of interdisciplinary research initiatives for the "Enhancing Worship for Neurodivergent Children Through Music and the Arts" program. The Assistant Director will play a key role in designing and managing research projects, fostering scholarly collaboration, and producing high-impact academic and public scholarship. Duties include:
Qualifications: A masters in Ethno/musicology, sacred music, sociology, religious studies, psychology, or related field and two or more years of professional experience with exceptional success in a related field is required. In lieu of professional experience, a terminal degree is required, or we will consider a combination of relevant professional experience and experience gained in the relevant field while pursuing a terminal degree. Candidates with a Ph.D. (or equivalent terminal degree) in Ethno/musicology, sacred music, sociology, religious studies, psychology, or related field, who have completed their terminal degree by September 2025 are preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
