Position Overview: We have an exciting opportunity open to join our team as a Quality Engineer! The role of the Quality Engineer is to plan and conduct activities related to the development, application and control of quality assurance standards and manufacturing processes involving industrial processes, materials and products throughout the plant.

Key Job Responsibilities:



  • Conduct internal and external audits for ISO compliance.
  • Assist in writing and preparing ISO procedures and work instructions and update as necessary as dictated by corrective actions.
  • Develop and improve processes related to ISO.
  • Investigate internal (Avidity manufactured product), supplier, and customer quality complaints. Lead the Root Cause investigation and corrective action, as needed.
  • Provide feedback to internal and external customers involving customer complaints, corrective actions and manufacturing nonconformances.
  • Customer facing in the resolution of customer issues. This will include travel to the customer location to determine the possible root causes of the issue as necessary.
  • Work at the customer site to coordinate and perform corrective actions to the Avidity equipment, as necessary.
  • Work directly with internal cross functional team that includes Engineering, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales, and Service in leading the determination of root cause and decision of corrective action steps.
  • Assist design engineering and manufacturing in the determination of key measurement characteristics.
  • Support new product development through various quality techniques such as, lessons learned and past issues.
  • Monitor corrective actions for timeliness, completion and accuracy.
  • Drive, root cause determination using proven problem solving tools and corrective action implementation.
  • Participate in corrective action meetings and related tasks.
  • Support supplier development actions, supplier audits, supplier corrective actions, monitoring KPIs and reporting.
  • Work with Purchasing and Engineering to source purchased parts required by Corrective Action and perform 1st piece inspection.
  • Monitor SPC process for process capability and make adjustments to control limits as necessary through capability studies and control chart reviews.
  • Report on key process measures.
  • Coordinate and assist with internal departments when quality issues are reported.
  • Promote and communicate QMS concepts throughout the organization.
  • Conduct deviation, DCN, and ECO submittal, disposition, approval and resolution.
  • Attend Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to provide proper disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Assist Engineering in the testing of new materials to determine acceptability for use in products.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience and 3-5 years related experience, or a combination of both.
