DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Staff Physician 2, your primary responsibility will be to deliver comprehensive medical care and treatment within the family practice framework to the patients assigned to you. In this capacity, you will also provide essential backup support for your fellow physicians and oversee the medical operations within designated facilities. Collaboration will be key, as you will work closely with a team that includes other physicians, registered nurses, nursing assistants, and various healthcare professionals. Your duties will encompass conducting physical examinations, performing ward rounds, and responding to sick calls, along with making critical decisions regarding patient admissions to external hospitals when necessary. Additionally, you will offer medical consultative services and manage both pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients. A significant aspect of your role will involve delivering preventive healthcare services tailored to the individual needs of patients, taking into account their age, gender, and any chronic health conditions they may have.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
