Rutgers School of Health Professions ( SHP) is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to work in the Physician Assistant Studies Department.
In collaboration with the program director (PD), the Admissions Coordinator will oversee, coordinate, and participate in admissions, recruitment and alumni relations for the Physician Assistant Program. These responsibilities include the development and maintenance of ongoing program assessment and accreditation related to these tasks. The Admissions Coordinator will also provide high-level support to additional strategic and administrative requirements for the program, as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop, coordinate, and participate in all admissions processes including screening, interviewing, decision making, and notification. This includes assignment of responsibilities to faculty and staff, and the training and support of CASPA users.
  • Coordinate the development of new and the periodic review of existing admissions policies.
  • Update the centralized application portals (including WebAdmit, CASPA BANNER, CAS, and CRM).
  • Develop and support implementation of targeted annual recruitment strategy based on PA Program's mission, goals, and values.
  • Develop, coordinate, and seek faculty/student participation in annual recruitment activities, including but not limited to PA Program Information sessions.
  • Attend several recruitment events per year, sometimes after hours or on weekends, requiring modification to normal work hours.
  • Create and disseminate regular admissions cycle applicant status reports to PD and others.
  • Create recruitment, admissions, and assessment reports that include data (from multiple sources), analysis, and recommendations to improve program practices and explore growth opportunities.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of administrative experience required.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically word processing, spreadsheets and database software.
  • Must be able to interact with a diverse faculty and student body.
  • Must have advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable giving presentations to large groups of people.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Responsibilities occasionally require an adjusted work schedule and evening and/or weekend hours.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an academic setting and/or admissions of a healthcare program strongly preferred.
  • Experience in undergraduate or graduate program recruitment is preferred. Experience with data collection and assessment preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to carry up to 20 pounds and set up displays for events.
  • Ability to drive between campuses and to external sites.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Busy office environment.
  • Occasional off-site travel to events.
