Student Tutor

(Student Tutor) The Math Learning Center (MLC) Student Math Lab Assistant is primarily responsible for tutoring students in our learning centers.

The student worker will work at the main campus.

Primary Role of this position is to systematically and consistently provide learning support services to students in a positive and efficient delivery process by serving as an academic tutor. The learning support services include one-on-one and group tutoring sessions with students in a non-directive, facilitative approach; assisting with computer-based, academic tutorials; and assisting students with comprehension of course subject matter.

We are looking for someone primarily to work during the Math Learning Center's peak hours between 10 am and 4 pm, though the hours are flexible. We can work around your class schedule.

This position is a non-federal work-study position. We are looking for student workers to work approximately 15-20 hours a week.

You must be currently enrolled as a Stark State student.

Applicants need to have successfully completed Calculus I.

We also need someone who has basic computer, telephone, and typing skills.

We are looking for individuals who are dependable, prompt, and have a positive and professional attitude.

Knowledge of computers and online software is required.

Stark State College utilizes E-Verify to ensure compliance with applicable employment eligibility laws. E-Verify is an electronic system used to confirm the employment eligibility of new hires.
