General Position Overview

The Production Operator IV is a highly skilled position responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and leadership within the production environment. This position requires a deep understanding of SoundOff Signal's policies, procedures, and systems while emphasizing leadership, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

Additionally, this role plays a key part in fostering a culture of these values by consistently demonstrating and mentoring them in day-to-day operations.

As a Production Operator IV, you will be expected to perform at an advanced level, maintaining proficiency in all Operator I, II, and III duties while taking on additional leadership and quality control responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include auditing team members, troubleshooting job order issues, assisting with equipment adjustments, addressing process and product questions, and supporting the Team Lead with various tasks. You will also be responsible for updating and occasionally reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) during GEMBA walks, attending leadership meetings such as shift-to-shift communications, and covering for Team Leads during vacations.

Production Operator IVs play a crucial role in resolving production challenges or engaging the appropriate support teams when needed. Maintaining a high-quality performance standard and leading by example are essential aspects of this role.

Additionally, this role requires a proven track record of reliability through attendance, adherence to safety protocols, and proficiency in operating department equipment. The Production Operator IV also plays a key role in mentoring and training new team members while ensuring all work meets or exceeds company standards.

  • Highly skilled at locating parts efficiently via the enterprise resource planning (ERP).
  • Skilled in conducting root-cause analysis for quality issues within their department to drive continuous improvement.
  • Highly skilled at and performs daily cleanliness audits, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Resolves job order problems independently.
  • Sustains performance exceeding quality standards.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of aptitude with machinery and able to assist with adjustments when necessary.
  • Willing to cross train in all areas of their department as well as other departments as customer demands and changing business needs dictate.
  • Leads the way in maintaining a strong positive, professional working relationship with team members.
  • Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 5 - 7 years of related experience.
  • Displayed excellence in manufacturing skills preferred.
  • Strong display of leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to mentor and support team members.
  • Thorough understanding of all SoundOff Signal policies, procedures, and systems or ability to learn quickly.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with and follow directions from the Team Lead, Supervisor or others from operations leadership team while taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
  • Consistent track record of meeting quality and efficiency standards, with the ability to build, check, and inspect all products.
  • Ability to read, follow, correct, and improve work instructions, ensuring continuous process improvements.
  • Ability to maintain a quick pace while keeping a strong focus on quality in all tasks.
  • Has develop more advanced computer skills as needed.
  • Basic math skills, including proficiency with decimals, measurements, and conversions.
  • Displayed ability to independently follow verbal and written instructions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude to effectively operate department equipment.
  • Proven track record of good attendance, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
  • Must be able to accurately handle and assemble small parts.

Working Conditions

  • Light manufacturing environment
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting
  • Required to work shift hours (four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days) with occasional overtime

Schedule

  • Monday-Thursday, 5:00am-3:00pm with occasional overtime as needed on Fridays
