Discipline Description

Quality Assurance personnel develop policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations. They ensure products, services, or processes meet established quality standards and customer requirements. They develop, assure, and maintain the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures, and quality audits/reviews.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Apply technical and quality engineering experience to resolve complex problem/ features such as: oversight of complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials/processes, coordination of oversight requirements into problem solving & planning.
Support leadership in determining solutions to complex problems.
* Provide support both inside and outside department lines on program problems through the application of existing engineering and quality assurance principles; including evaluating programs through surveillances, monitoring, assessments, and reviews; prepare reports and recommendations based on these evaluations, identifying improvements where established technology, methodology, and procedures are inadequate.
* Support the development/revision of QA programs procedures, ensuring compliance to quality assurance
requirements within the assigned facility or program area and accountable for compliance with the approved schedules.
* Support development of oversight plans, assessments,
schedules, monitor progress and review the quality of completed work to ensure that technical and quality requirements are met.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
