Sr. Mgr, Etch Technologist

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

Leads cross-functional teams that are focused on the delivery of Etch solutions for customers in specialty technologies and advanced packaging. Develops, defines and executes project plans, schedules, and deliverables. Interface with external customers and field-based employees on technical matters. This position is most common in a matrix type organization, where the position has overall customer technical engagement responsibility, i.e. coordinating efforts leading to Etch product and process solutions.

* Identify customer technology trends and requirement
* Drive application-specific etch product strategy
* Technical management of new business opportunities
* Lead etch solution development with engineering team, account team and customer to include preparation, alignment and management of projects
* Coordinate account team and customer meetings
* Technical marketing presentations
* Provide update of project status and direction to management and executives team
* Provide Spec responses

• Thorough understanding of various etch applications
• Understanding of specialty technology (Photonics, CIS, Power, Analog, RF, MEMs, emerging memory)
• Understanding of etch processes and hardware-process interactions
• Excellentcommunication and organizational skills
• Strategic thinking
• Conversant in customer integration challenges
• Collaborative spirit in working with cross functional teams

• > 8 year experience in etch processes and products for semiconductor manufacturing
• Ph.D., MS or Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
