The EHS Clerk will primarily be the administrative assistant for the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) department. This includes filing, maintaining records and assisting the Environmental and Safety Engineers as needed. Qualifications

- Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments
- Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation
- Assist in the compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to environmental health and safety
- Prepare EHS reports as requested
- Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS training
- Comply with all EHS procedures and policies
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary information
- Follow all safety and working rules.
- Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and Team Members in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and ethical work environment.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute towards a quality environment.
- Excellent regular full-time attendance in support of company objectives.
- Use initiative and judgment in making decisions, keeping with the Company's Code of Conduct, Ethics and the McWane Way.
- Special projects and/or other duties as assigned.
- Perform any other work-related tasks as requested or assigned
- Assists with Workers' Compensation
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Associates degree in EHS or Occupational Health and Safety preferred
- Possess an advanced level of knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Basic office conditions with occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements which are less desirable. Some plant exposure and travel.
- Professional conduct at all times when acting on behalf of McWane Plant & Industrial
- Strict adherence to Company's Code of Conduct, Ethics and the McWane Way.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement strategic process improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize while resolving unplanned issues and continuing to execute a plan for overall departmental improvement.
- Strong ability to think critically and make effective decisions in high-pressure environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, and discretion.
- Comfortable in group presentations and having the ability to effectively lead meetings.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups.

- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software

Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Ability to read, write and comprehend basic work instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Experience working with Workers' Compensation and Claims
- Strong computer proficiency including use of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- OSHA 1910 (General Industry) certification
- Basic environmental compliance knowledge (RCRA and CEQA)
- Basic knowledge of chemical storage and labeling requirements
- 10-30 hours of OSHA 500 or 501, Train the Trainer, preferred
Education and/or Experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Excellent communication skills, professional phone etiquette, and general knowledge of safety principles.
