Job Summary

This is a 2 year Contract position

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced research professional with a full understanding of in-depth statistical analyses and / or research software programming techniques. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.


Our group focuses on the use of new molecular imaging agents and their role in staging cancer and treating cancer.

We are looking for someone with experience using R for statistical and epidemiologic applications. We prefer candidates with R Markdown experience and who have experience with R and writing R functions.

At UCSF we have multiple projects leveraging large databases in prostate cancer and are looking for analytic support. The projects involve multicenter databases with imaging, treatment and outcomes data. Successful applicants will have experience with coding in R as well as experience with standard statistical analysis.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $87,900 - $126,900 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging is a world renowned department focused on how medical imaging is used in clinical practice. Our group focuses on the use of new molecular imaging agents and their role in staging cancer and treating cancer. We are looking for someone with experience using R for statistical and epidemiologic applications. We prefer candidates with R Markdown experience and who have more than 1 year experience with R and writing R functions. At UCSF we have multiple projects leveraging large databases in prostate cancer, and are looking for analytic support. The projects involve multicenter databases with imaging, treatment and outcomes data. Successful applicants will have experience with coding in R as well as experience with standard statistical analysis. Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience
  • Experience in skill coding in R
  • Thorough skills associated with statistical analysis and systems programming
  • Thorough skills in analysis and consultation

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's or other graduate degree
  • Thorough knowledge of research function
  • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
  • Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations
  • Skills in project management
