Your Opportunity

We are seeking a proven Director of Licensing to lead and accelerate licensing efforts for both new digital I&C platforms and legacy modernization projects across the U.S. nuclear fleet. This is a strategic leadership role designed not only to ensure compliance with NRC regulatory pathways, but to drive business growth by enabling faster, more predictable routes to market. You'll be the bridge between our global best in class I&C technical teams, U.S. nuclear customers, and regulators-translating regulatory requirements into business enablers and using your experience to reduce time-to-license through innovative, risk-informed, and stakeholder-aligned approaches.

What Makes This Role Unique

This is a rare opportunity to build the U.S. I&C licensing function from the ground up, while collaborating with global and corporate teams. As Director, you will be responsible for scaling a high-performing team of 10-15 licensing experts and shaping a licensing center of excellence that enables I&C modernization across the U.S. nuclear fleet. Together we will enable clean, safe, and economical low-carbon energy to meet the global ambition for a better tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a scalable licensing strategy for safety I&C platforms - both for new deployments and legacy system modernization
  • Hire, develop, and manage a high-performing team of 10-15 licensing experts over time, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and accountability
  • Serve as the primary interface with the NRC, NEI, and other regulatory bodies to align on efficient, risk-informed licensing approaches
  • Partner cross-functionally and cross-BU with engineering, product management, and commercial teams to integrate licensing strategies into go-to market plans
  • Understand U.S. nuclear utility personas, concerns, and procurement drivers to ensure licensing aligns with customer expectations
  • Identify opportunities to reduce licensing timelines through proactive engagement, use of pre-application meetings, topical reports, and innovative licensing frameworks
  • Track and anticipate regulatory shifts and industry trends; advise leadership on potential impacts and opportunities
  • Build a licensing roadmap that supports product standardization, scalable deployment, and repeatability across sites
  • Serve as a thought leader and external face of the business for licensing matters, including conferences and industry engagements

This is a remote/hybrid position with additional locations in VA, MD, or MA.

  • At least 10 years of experience in nuclear regulatory licensing, with direct engagement with the NRC
  • Proven track record licensing I&C platforms (e.g., safety-related RPS, FPGA, DCS, or modernization programs)
  • Deep understanding of NRC regulatory frameworks, NEI guidance, and industry precedents
  • Experience leading or building licensing teams and driving cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong knowledge of US nuclear utility stakeholders and regulatory expectations
