Overview

The Big O Regional Operations Manager oversees the operations of a region of the Big O Tires division of MFA Oil, including coaching, expense control, managing profitability, training and developing the territory managers, maintaining expectations of the facilities appearance, and ensuring proper operational procedures are followed.

Responsibilities



  • Work with territory managers to develop store budgets and meet regularly to discuss store progress and issues
  • Ensure stores comply with franchise agreements
  • Regularly work with the territory management team to review operations, customer service, location appearance, daily paperwork, deposits, inventory, expense, and strategize needed changes for each store.
  • Attend community events and fundraisers throughout the region when possible to help promote the division and company image
  • Identify and recommend new location possibilities and work directly with the Vice President of Big O Tires Operations and contractors on remodels and new store builds.
  • Monitor and report monthly projections and trends by store, territory and region
  • Work with Territory Managers to maintain adequate staffing within the region
  • Help organize and conduct the division annual meeting and staff meetings, and recommend all other training materials
  • Serve as a technical source of information to retail automotive employees in the field
  • Promote good working relationships with HR, IT, Accounting, and all other business units within MFA Oil Company
  • Work with subordinates to establish attainable and trackable individual and team goals for the department
  • Manage assigned employees including hiring, evaluating performance, making wage adjustments, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Plan and direct the work of assigned employees, including providing clear direction; training, developing and motivating employees; enforcing company policies and safety requirements; monitoring productivity; and resolving conflict in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve employee time entry, ensuring employees follow posted work schedules and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked.
  • Inform the Vice President of Big O Tires Operations of any problems and/or any issues that need attention
  • Develop and oversee budget for the assigned Big O Tires region, including asset management
  • Be a spokesperson and company representative at the state and national level when necessary
  • All MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in a management, marketing, sales or a related discipline or ten years of retail automotive experience
  • Experience with service/billing procedures and/or financial/accounting skills
  • Experience supervising multiple retail facilities
  • Working knowledge of all aspects (including mechanical repair) of a retail automotive facility
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license
  • Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed
  • Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
  • Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Ability to exchange accurate information with customers
  • Ability to travel regionally with overnight stays approximately 15% of the time
  • Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
  • Ability to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability and willingness to comply with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) regulations
  • Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or driving) for up to nine hours per shift
  • Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing 75 pounds
  • Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and criminal background check
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
