Job Summary: TEKsystems is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Center Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting one of the most high-profile and rapidly growing data center initiatives in the country. This role involves supporting data center decommissioning, cable management, hardware setup, and physical audits across multiple sites nationwide. Key Responsibilities: * Remove network cables as part of data center decommissioning efforts. * Run, label, and stage power and networking cables. * Perform DBD removal (no scanning required). * Follow procedures for installing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning equipment under the guidance of Data Center Technician Leads. * Prepare, stage, and perform basic hardware startups and shutdowns using written instructions and checklists. * Conduct physical audits of data center assets. * Monitor systems for equipment failures or performance issues. * Respond to program error messages and assist in debugging and testing. * Operate spreadsheet and software tools to manage and report data. Required Qualifications: * High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. * Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). * Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time. * Open to working at all Milwaukee-area data center sites. Preferred Qualifications: * Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training. * 5+ years of data center experience. * Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
