Overview

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions and communications systems that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. We are currently seeking a Senior Process Analyst / Business Process Re-Engineer that will support sprint and product line development activities at the Department of Veteran Affairs. You will play a pivotal role in gathering requirements and developing user stories for existing or new business systems.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible and accountable for providing effective and efficient technical, functional, and requirements support across multiple projects. This is a full-time remote position. Veterans are encouraged to apply.



Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    Able to translate specified modeling requirements to realizations using modeling tools, sub-system simulation using boundary conditions, and closed loop control methods.
  • Integrate process models with sub-system control code to generate real time simulation.
  • Must also be able to document model configuration & model validation, principles of operation, and application guidelines.
  • Leading process improvement initiatives and re-engineering efforts to enhance workflows and optimize business processes.
  • Analyzing and documenting complex business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending innovative solutions.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and translate them into comprehensive use stories and functional specifications.
  • Facilitating workshops and meetings to identify business needs, elicit requirements, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Ability to assist in the creation of wireframes to facilitate user feedback, clarify/communicate ideas, and provide of visualization of process structure and layout
  • Developing and maintaining process maps, use case diagrams, and other documentation to support project deliverables.
  • Execute requirements reviews with stakeholders and record results of reviews using a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), updating requirements data following reviews
  • Managing and prioritizing multiple projects, ensuring that deadlines are met, and deliverables are of high quality.
  • Conducting gap analyses to identify discrepancies between current and desired states and proposing actionable plans to bridge the gaps.
  • Providing expertise in the design, development, and implementation of business systems, ensuring they meet user needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in testing activities, including the development of test plans, test cases, and conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate system functionality.
  • Serving as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Continuously monitoring and evaluating process performance, recommending improvements, and implementing best practices.
  • Supporting change management efforts, including training and communication strategies, to ensure successful adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Participate in the DevOps, Agile-Scrum process by assisting with user story development, estimating, and completion of assigned stories
  • Familiar with JIRA, ADO, or other project tracking software
  • Work with technical experts and stakeholders to mitigate risks and resolve issues
  • Provide daily, weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly metrics as required to leadership and practice partners
  • Recommend and execute improvements
  • Create technical documentation for reference
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt well to a changing and dynamic client environment and function independently
  • Ability to work nights and weekends (on occasion if needed)
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor


Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Cost Accounting, or related scientific or technical discipline, or 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Agile certifications (SAFe, Scrum Master, etc.)
  • Applied experience (5 + years):
    • Must have experience in the creation and building of application models for business operation processes
    • Working with customers, users, and project leads in analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting IT business applications and systems
    • Primary responsibility for individual projects and systems
    • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and knowledge of implementing the Agile methodology to include sprint planning, backlog grooming (including acceptance criteria), and user story creation and approval
    • Analyzing business processes
    • Test & evaluation criteria and logistics support of requirements
    • Developing, writing, and creating user stories with acceptance criteria that is testable and defines done
    • Developing Requirement Traceability Matrix for applications and coordinating with Development tool
    • Risk analysis and risk management
    • Business, functional, and technical knowledge of computer systems
    • Reporting and cost analysis skills
    • Testing functionality to match requirements
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Understanding of the Dynamics 365 (D365) CRM solution from the business / functional perspective
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills, including the ability to communicate with brevity and clarity to government clients and develop work products that meet professional quality standards with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to schedule, organize, and facilitate executive-level virtual meetings and summarize outcomes.
  • Ability to self-organize, balance workload, complete tasks on time (without reminders), proactively seek out assignments, and offer improvements to client delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience with VA / US Government Agencies


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working as a federal contractor or employee.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, including talking and hearing.
  • Ability to operate productively in a fully remote work environment, including the ability to take meetings and phone calls from a quiet and private space during business hours.
  • Ability and willingness to actively participate in virtual meetings throughout most of the workday and be responsive to messages (MS Teams) and emails (MS Outlook) within reasonable timeframes set by the supervisor or client.
  • Ability to be responsive and working during Eastern time zone standard business hours (9:00am to 4:00pm EST).
  • Ability to satisfy security clearance and onboarding requirements:
    • Print, sign, scan, and return onboarding documentation.
    • Travel at personal expense to nearest government facility to get fingerprinted, apply for a PIV badge, pick-up the PIV badge, and pick-up government equipment.
