Job Summary:

Supports various applications, computer systems, and other engineering tools used to design and analyze electric distribution systems. Provides occasional user training and interfaces with vendors and software developers. Designs new programs and systems to automate existing processes. Assists in the development of electrical models used to identify design criteria violations and create design solutions for the electric distribution system.

Essential Functions:



  • Perform administrative tasks to support electrical design applications.
  • Provide technical support and user training for design application users.
  • Acquire basic knowledge of distribution design standards and design criteria.
  • Provide support needed for electrical modeling to analyze the distribution system.
  • Gather information and compile data from multiple sources (SAP, G.I.S., Key Accounts, Service Centers) to support electrical models.
  • Assist in full-stack web development focusing on Windows IIS Server with PHP, SMTP, Python, SQL, JavaScript, and HTML.
  • Perform advanced computer hardware and software troubleshooting, repair, setup, and installation.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve engineering applications on EE's web server.
  • Provide departmental support of Microsoft Office Products and other applications.
  • Assist with general networking and server-to-client troubleshooting.
  • Support preparation of electric distribution development plans (DDP).
  • Perform analysis of technical data, identify problems, and propose alternative solutions.
  • Evaluate new technologies that will enhance the electric distribution system.
  • Improve and enhance engineering processes and procedures.
  • Participate on task forces, user groups, inter-utility work groups, and professional organizations.



Education:

A Senior Electric Engineering Technologist requires an Engineering Technology degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Requires a minimum of six (6) years of experience in performing technical/design work in an electric engineering environment.
